Die Cutting Machine Operator
Position Summary
The Baysek Flatbed Diecut Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining flatbed die-cutting equipment to produce high-quality products according to job specifications. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation
Set up and operate flatbed die-cutting press according to production orders and specifications.
Install dies, adjust machine settings, and verify proper alignment and cutting pressure.
Stack paper into feed section to be loaded into machine when machine is out of paper.
Monitor machine operation and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency throughout run.
Operate equipment safely and follow all lockout/tagout and machine safety procedures.
Quality Control
Inspect finished products for accuracy, cut quality, scoring, registration, and defects.
Perform regular quality checks and document results as required.
Ensure materials meet customer and company standards upon completion of each unit.
Wrap, add dunnage, place tags in units, and remove any excess scrap from unit before sending down the line to be added to finished good and/or next operation.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Conduct routine machine cleaning, lubrication, and basic maintenance.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and escalate problems to maintenance when needed.
Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
Production Workflow
Read and interpret production tickets, work orders, and specifications.
Work efficiently to meet production schedules and deadlines.
Record production data, including quantities, downtime, material usage, and machine performance.
Safety & Compliance
Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations as well as our company’s Food Safety Certification (FSSC22000).
Wear required PPE and report any hazards or incidents immediately.
Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
Requirements
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear for the 8-hour shift.
· The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
· The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
· Performs additional duties, assignments, and project work as directed by supervision or management to support operational, safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities may include assisting with special projects, equipment moves, facility improvements, training activities, and other tasks necessary to meet company objectives.
