Job Title: Head Strength & Conditioning CoachCompany: VeloCity Baseball (Velocity)Location: Addison, IL (on-site) Address: 2100 Corporate Drive, Addison, IL 60101About Us: VeloCity Baseball is seeking a dedicated Head Strength & Conditioning Coach to lead our strength programs and contribute to the growth and development of our athletes. This is a part-time role with a clear path to full-time opportunities for the right candidate.Role Description:Design, implement, and oversee comprehensive strength and conditioning programs tailored to individual athlete needs.Create and adjust individualized training programs using data collected from testing (power, strength, mobility, speed) to drive performance improvements.Monitor athlete performance, track progress, and adjust programming based on data.Provide guidance on injury prevention, recovery, and overall athletic development.Coach athletes directly and mentor assistant coaches and support staff.Conduct fitness assessments and collaborate with sports medicine, nutrition, and coaching staff to optimize training protocols.Maintain facility safety, equipment, and training environments.Represent the organization professionally in all interactions.Employment Type:Part-Time with Path to Full-TimeCompensation:Competitive hourly rate with a clear pathway to increased hours and progression to full-time, commensurate with performance, program growth, and organizational needs.Path to Full-Time Employment & Salary Negotiation:We view this role as a long-term investment in both the organization and your career.Upon achieving full-time status (40+ hours/week on a sustained basis), you will have the opportunity to negotiate a salaried compensation package.Review considerations include:Performance and athlete outcomesProgram growth and contributions to the organizationMarket benchmarks for Head S&C Coaches in the Chicagoland areaAdditional responsibilities taken on during the part-time periodExpectation: Transition to salaried, full-time employment within [X months], contingent on mutual agreement and program milestones.Key Responsibilities:Design, implement, and oversee strength and conditioning programs for all athletes.Lead, coach, and mentor assistant coaches and support staff.Create individualized training programs using data from testing (power, strength, mobility, speed) to optimize performance.Collect and analyze athlete performance data; adjust programming accordingly.Collaborate with sports medicine, nutrition, and coaching staff to optimize performance.Manage facility equipment, safety protocols, and training environment.Maintain professionalism and integrity in all organizational interactions.Qualifications:Proficiency in Strength & Conditioning methodologies and strength training techniques.Experience coaching professional athletes and/or personal training.Strong foundation in Exercise Physiology and its application to athletic performance.Excellent communication and motivational skills.Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to individual athlete needs.Degree in Biomechanics (preferred).Certifications (required or preferred):CSCS (or equivalent!), USAW, CPR/AED (proof required).Equipment & Tools:Experience with or knowledge of VALD performance testing devices is preferred.Understanding of using testing data from VALD (or similar systems) to inform program design is a plus.Application Requirements:A current resume highlighting relevant experience.Evidence of certifications (CSCS, USAW, CPR/AED, etc.).Brief cover note outlining your approach to program design and athlete development.References upon request.Equal Opportunity Employer: VeloCity Baseball is an equal opportunity employer.
