As we continue to grow, we are focused on building strong internal systems that support both our team and the families we serve.Position OverviewWe are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to serve as Ascend Healthcare’s internal HR representative, supporting all day-to-day HR functions in partnership with our Professional Employer Organization (PEO).This role is highly operational and detail-oriented, with a strong emphasis on consistency, compliance, and follow-through. The HR Generalist will work closely with leadership and managers across multiple programs to ensure HR processes are executed accurately and aligned with company standards.This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multi-site healthcare environment.Key ResponsibilitiesHR Operations & PEO CoordinationServe as the primary liaison between Ascend and our PEO for payroll, benefits, leave management, and employee changesReview payroll and benefits data for accuracy and ensure timely processingTrack HR requests and ensure completion and follow-throughEmployee Relations & Manager SupportSupport managers with employee relations matters, including performance concerns and documentationAssist with performance management processes, including performance improvement plansEnsure consistent application of policies across programsCompliance & Employee RecordsMaintain accurate and organized employee personnel files in compliance with California labor laws, Title 22 regulations, and Joint Commission standardsTrack required documentation, including background checks, TB testing, licenses, and trainingsMonitor expiration dates and ensure timely renewalsSupport internal and external audits, including licensing and accreditation reviewsLeave Management & Employee StatusCoordinate and track employee leaves of absence (FMLA/CFRA, disability, personal leave)Ensure accurate classification of employee status and alignment with payroll and benefitsOnboarding & OffboardingCoordinate onboarding processes, including new hire paperwork and orientationSupport consistent and organized offboarding processesRecruitment SupportAssist with job postings, candidate coordination, and interview schedulingSupport consistent hiring processes across departmentsHR Systems & ReportingMaintain HR tracking systems and documentationProvide regular reporting on headcount, turnover, and HR activityIdentify opportunities to improve HR workflows and organizationQualifications2–5 years of human resources experienceExperience in a multi-site or healthcare setting preferredFamiliarity with California employment law and HR best practicesExperience working with a PEO or third-party HR vendor preferredStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple priorities and follow through independentlyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsHigh level of discretion and professionalismWhy Join AscendOpportunity to play a key role in building internal HR structure within a growing organizationCollaborative, mission-driven team environmentMeaningful work supporting adolescents and familiesCompetitive compensation and benefitsCompensation: $80,000 – $90,000 annually, based on experience
