Industrial Electrician

Job Description Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs plant electrical equipment and systems. Performs duties with limited direct supervision. Works closely with other Electricians to perform complex assignments.Principal Duties and Responsibilities Reads and interprets basic wiring diagrams and troubleshoots basic relay logicTroubleshoots and repairs controls related to hydraulic and pneumatic systemsTroubleshoots and repairs 120 volt control motor circuitsUses and interprets volt meters, ohm meters, amp meters, and meggersDemonstrates safe work habits and observes all safety rules and procedures including equipment lockoutDemonstrates initiative and dependability in attendance and accomplishment of work assignmentsDemonstrates excellent housekeeping practices in electrical shop and throughout facilityPerforms other routine duties, such as operating manlifts and forkliftsConsistently responds to calls in a timely manner, completes assignments with high quality in a timely manner and completes timesheets properlyConsistently exhibits positive attitude, is supportive of Boise Cascade Company, sets a good example for other employees, and is a team player committed to making Boise Cascade successfulFollows Company policies, procedures and safety rulesKnowledge, Skills, and Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); minimum one year of professional electrical maintenance experience; or satisfactory completion of an accredited comprehensive technical school electrical maintenance programAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceAbility to effectively communicate preventative maintenance to supervisors and machine operatorsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsAbility to compute rate, ratio, and percentAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formAbility to comprehend and interpret basic mechanical prints and schematics of systemsAbility to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations without supervision
