LDRP RN The position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery. The role involves providing care to patients during labor and postpartum. The facility has 4 labor and delivery beds and 7 postpartum beds. Nurses will follow AWHONN guidelines for patient ratios. In labor, the nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1 or 1:2, and in postpartum, it is 1:2 or 1:3. Registered Nurses are required to titrate IV drips, including Magnesium and Oxytocin for antepartum/labor. Common postpartum medications include Prenatal vitamins and Ibuprofen. There is a Charge Nurse on each shift, who also takes an assignment. Nurses will be involved with troubleshooting neonatal respiratory equipment as needed. The unit utilizes EFM System for monitoring. Scheduling is block scheduling with every third weekend required and holidays as necessary. Nurses may be required to float to other areas for support. Scrubs will be provided for the duration of the assignment. Strong teamwork, communication, and independence are essential qualities for success in this role. Due to the facility's location, it is more than an hour away from NICU services. There are limitations in additional services available. The charge nurse will oversee C-section circulation for the baby.
