At Tantus, a Sikich Subsidiary, you'll find optimism, clear insights and genuine warmth, without egos.Are you ready to grow with us?Position summaryReporting to the Network & Voice Team Manager the Network Engineer will be supporting high-priority on-prem, hybrid, and cloud projects.What will you do in this role?Participate in solutioning efforts and client presentationsParticipate in complex network and connectivity troubleshooting and triage with team members and our clientComplete assigned tasks independently, and as part of a larger project teamPlan, implement, configure and maintain network infrastructure route/switch device operating systems, determine hardware specifications, and validate system performanceWork within Azure and the data center, collaborating with other engineers to develop strategies and plans in support of migration efforts and maintaining networking across a hybrid environmentDocument and transfer knowledge to fellow staff through training, coaching and mentoringExecute performance tuning, operational process development, and security configuration management in accordance with best practices, standards, and proceduresOperate and maintain network infrastructure devices including, but not limited to patching, system upgrade, backup, and system configurationSupport analysis, triage and break/fix of infrastructure system-related trouble ticketsConduct root cause analysis to determine the real or underlying cause of an incident to prevent future recurrencesSupport management reporting requirementsDocument and update systems architecture diagrams using Microsoft VisioCoordinate with the team to develop and maintain proper processes, procedures, security, and system documentation according to industry best practices and regulatory requirementsHelp evaluate new technologies and solutions to enhance the IT environment to serve strategic and tactical business objectivesTrack and ensure awareness of Cisco and M365 roadmaps, new tools and capabilities, and recommend their potential use within the organizationWhat do you need to succeed in this role?Must be a United States Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust. *This is a hybrid position in Washington, DC. * Exceptional troubleshooting skillsAbility to interface directly with our clientBachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or in information technology, or equivalent experience7+ years’ experience supporting network infrastructure projects within a complex, multi-vendor environment5+ years demonstrated experience in designing and implementing network supporting datacenter system virtualization, application load balancing, application hosting, application acceleration5+ years of enterprise and campus networking includes but not limited Cisco Switches and Routers, Cisco ISE, 802.1x, LAN, Remote Access VPNExperience supporting networks running Cisco UC and/or MS Teams VoIP systemsExtensive knowledge of and hands-on experience with:Cisco ACIFirewall management and configuration, with and understanding of network security and defense-in-depth strategiesUnderstanding of high-availability design including replication and load balancingIPSEC and SSL VPNsFederal IT regulatory compliance experienceExceptional work ethic and time management skillsAbility to work well both independently and part of a teamStrong written and verbal communication skills and a commitment to customer serviceExcellent customer service skills with a customer service focus, and strong interface/communication skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsTechnical leadershipWorking knowledge of system hardening (STIGs, SRGs, regulatory compliance)Knowledge and understanding of Cisco VPN & Zscaler ZIA and ZPA, Cisco ACIHave supported networks running Cisco UC Some limited travel required (Must be available for off-hours work and participate in rotating responsibilitiesIn compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the midpoint of the salary range for this role is $165,000.
