Golf Course Maintenance WorkerStarting Hourly Rate $16.93Nature of Work:This position involves semi-skilled manual and skilled equipment operation work in golf course maintenanceResponsible for watering greens, and teesMaintains sand trapsChanges cups on greens and tee markersMows turf with sophisticated golf maintenance equipment and picks up debris, leaves, and broken tree limbPerforms related work as requiredReports to permanent Golf Course Green KeepersRequired Qualifications:Ability to perform heavy manual labor, and follow oral and written instructions without close supervisionSkilled in the use of hand and mechanical tools and equipmentMust obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 30 days of employment. The City offers CPR/AED and First Aid classes, which are free to Parks employees. Please note, your certification must be from an organization that has been approved by the Bureau of Community and Health Systems, Child Care Licensing Division. Please see following link for list of approved organizations.Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of the proper use and operation of equipment used in golf course maintenanceHigh School Diploma or G.E.D Equivalent and some experience in grounds keeping; or any equivalent combination of education and experiencePhysical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job. Required to wear hearing protection.
