You’ll work closely with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to coordinate annual tax updates, troubleshoot issues, improve processes, and provide support related to forms and filing processes.Primary Job Duties IncludeResearching new federal and state legislation and changes to existing legislation to develop/design income tax forms, instructions, schedules, and related documents Reviewing and analyzing forms and processes to identify issues, troubleshoot concerns, and recommend improvements based on operational needs and taxpayer feedbackPreparing test scenarios and performing testing related to annual tax changes, system updates, vendor testing, and electronic filing processesAssisting in training and developing proceduresServing as a DORWAY Power User and Subject Matter Expert for Income Tax Services processes and system-related activities Coordinating and tracking form changes, development requests, project updates, and website publication deadlines for taxpayer-facing forms and documentsManaging annual changes spreadsheets for forms, DORWAY development, and fraud projectsServing as point of contact for questions from vendors, external customers, and internal staff regarding forms and processesGenerating reports and processing adjustments related to manual 1099G/INT within DORWAYDeveloping, updating, and reviewing procedures while recommending improvements to existing processes and operational practicesMinimum And Additional RequirementsA bachelor’s degreeand relevant program experienceRelevant experience or education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis with an approved equivalence by the Division of State Human Resources (DSHR)Academic degrees must be from an accredited institution of higher learning.Preferred QualificationsExperience working with tax forms, tax process, tax administration, or related support functions Experience researching and interpreting federal or state tax laws, regulations, or filing requirements Experience with systems testing, process improvement, project coordination, or documentation development Ability to confer, deal, and negotiate effectively with taxpayers, CPAs, tax managers, and other representativesAdditional CommentsEEO: The SCDOR is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all and does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, and pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions, including, but not limited to, lactationTraining: Income Tax Coordinators will participate in an onboarding program to ensure they have the knowledge and skills to successfully perform their jobHours: Work hours are 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week)Telework schedule: This position may be eligible to work remotely up to two days per week after one year of employment with SCDORReady to apply?
