Integration Engineer II with API and Integration Tool Experience
Overview
As Integration Engineer II, you will design and deliver end-to-end integration solutions that connect systems, data, and processes across cloud and on-prem environments. You will work with cross-functional teams to define standards, build scalable APIs, and ensure reliable data exchange. You’ll lead multiple workstreams across geographies, mentor junior engineers, and drive best practices in integration architecture. This role offers meaningful impact by accelerating client digital initiatives and modernizing technology platforms.
ResponsibilitiesDesign end-to-end architecture spanning frontend, backend, integration layers, and Azure-based cloud infrastructureDefine technical standards, integration design patterns, and best practicesCreate architecture diagrams, specifications, and data mappingsBuild backend services and APIs using Python/JavaScript/TypeScript and tools like MuleSoft, Apigee, Kong, Workato, BizTalkDesign, build, and integrate RESTful APIs for data exchangeImplement API security, versioning, rate limiting, and error handlingManage SDLC across Test, UAT, and Production environmentsMonitor and troubleshoot integration performance; provide post-deployment supportCollaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize data flows and governanceTake ownership of projects, manage stakeholder expectations, and mentor juniors
Key requirementsBachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or related field4+ years hands-on experience with Python or JavaScript/TypeScript for backend services and APIsProven experience designing/implementing integration solutions across on-prem and cloudStrong understanding of integration patterns and architectural stylesHands-on API design/development including RESTful, SOAP, and/or GraphQLExperience with API security standards (OAuth2, JWT, SAML, API keys) and versioningExperience with enterprise integration platforms/tools (MuleSoft, Apigee, Kong, Workato, BizTalk, Boomi)Experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP)Knowledge of data mapping, transformation, orchestration across heterogeneous systemsExperience SDLC including CI/CD, testing, multi-environment deploymentStrong analytical and troubleshooting skills; ability to translate requirements to technical solutionsExperience leading or mentoring junior developersAbility to travel up to 50% and legally able to work in the United StatesEffective written and verbal communicationMeticulous attention to detailAbility to build professional relationshipsPythonJavaScript/TypeScriptAzure
