Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.Responsibilities for this PositionKey ResponsibilitiesLaboratory ManagementManage day-to-day lab operations, often as a primary individual contributorEnsure compliance with safety regulations and protocolsOversee maintenance and calibration of lab equipment and instrumentsManage inventory of lab supplies and materialsSupport development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures and lab proceduresCoordinate scheduling of lab resources and personnelTrain and mentor lab staff as neededMaintain accurate records and documentationSupport research/testing projects and cross-departmental coordinationOffice ManagementOversee all general office operations in a small, collaborative settingManage office supplies, facilities, and vendor relationshipsCoordinate meetings, schedules, and travel arrangementsSupport HR functions such as onboarding and personnel recordsManage office expenditures and reportingServe as the primary point of contact for facilities, IT support, and outside vendorsFoster a positive, team-oriented office cultureHandle multiple administrative tasks simultaneously with minimal supervisionEngineering SupportPerform hands-on setup, operation, and troubleshooting of lab equipmentConduct tests, experiments, and measurements per established proceduresCollect, record, and analyze technical dataAssist engineers and scientists with project tasks and technical supportPerform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipmentAssemble, integrate, and test hardware or systems as requiredDocument test results, observations, and technical findingsEnsure proper handling, storage, and disposal of materialsSupport quality assurance and inspection activitiesIdentify and report equipment malfunctions or safety concernsSmall Office Specific ResponsibilitiesServe as a jack-of-all-trades, adapting to the evolving needs of a small teamProactively identify and resolve operational issues with limited resourcesCollaborate closely with all team members across functionsManage relationships with outside contractors, suppliers, and service providersSupport leadership with special projects and ad hoc tasks as neededMaintain confidentiality and professionalism in a close-knit work environmentHelp establish and refine processes and procedures as the office growsQualificationsExperience in laboratory, office management, and technical/technician rolesProven ability to thrive in a small, fast-paced, and dynamic work environmentKnowledge of safety standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO)Hands-on experience with lab and test equipmentProficiency with MS Office SuiteAbility to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, and proceduresSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal directionSkillsLeadership & team managementStrong organizational & multitasking abilitiesHands-on technical aptitudeProblem-solving & critical thinkingBudget & resource managementEffective communication & collaborationAdaptability & flexibility in a small office settingAttention to detailData collection & analysisAbility to prioritize competing demands and track multiple ongoing tasks and assignments.Salary NoteThis estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.).
