Specialty Gas Expeditor - Houston, TX

JOB TITLE - Specialty Gas Expeditor Working within a packaged gas zone the Specialty Gas Expeditor (SGE) manages the supply chain associated with specialty gases sourced through New Johnsonville, TN (NJV). The SGE may receive orders from customers, branches and HUB plants and places transfer orders and coordinate the movement of product through the inter-branch routes to the shipping branch. The SGE will also serve as the "Point Person" for basic part numbers, selling prices and customers service questions regarding specialty gases.Essential FunctionThe SGE supports the packaged and specialty gas sales teams with sourcing information, pricing recommendations, lead times and coordinates the supply chain from NJV into the Zone/HUB plants and to the sites for delivery to the customers.The following is a list of additional responsibilities:Provide Quoting/Ordering support for the locations served by a specific Hub or collection of Hubs.Acts as an in-house specialty gas resource for the packaged gas sales team.Provide lead time forecast to sales team and customers.Assist with monitoring and replenishing min/max inventory levels at Matheson packaged gas sites.Determine when to escalate specialty gas inquires to Specialty Gases Specialists, Specialty Gas CSR's, or other non-Zone Resources into the processServe as a conduit for information between sales teams, clients and operations teams.Assist with entering customer complaints into the CAPA or CCC tool.Develop and share "Best Practices" enhancing our ability to improve our specialty gas supply chain.Monitor internal and external quality assurance programs and Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) directly impacting the customer businessManage internal and external expectations for customer service as it relates to specialty gases within the zone.Provide management with ideas which will drive continuous improvement within the specialty gas supply chain.Attend scheduled zone/region safety, quality and sales meetings as deemed appropriate by the management team.Job Scope/Metrics:On Time Delivery of Specialty Gases Within Zone/Region*Principal Duties and Responsibilities (below):Primary Duties and Responsibilities % Time Spent Performing DutySafety Compliance, training, awareness, coordination with SHE Department, Sales and Operations Teams - support company safety programs through exemplary leadership. 10%Internal/External Quoting/Ordering support for the Zone/Region 30%Tracking orders from NJV sourced products through the supply chain 30%Responding to internal and external specialty gas inquiries 30%Total 100%Required for All JobsPerforms other duties as assignedComplies with all policies and standardsKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesTechnical Knowledge:Specialty gas, specialty gas equipment, bulk, medical and industrial cylinder industryBasic understanding of the manufacturing and distribution of specialty gases and industrial cylinder gases.Computer skills including TIMS (Computers Unlimited), Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook.Training, Education and Experience:3-5 years' experience in counter sales, distribution, production, warehousing or administrative roles within a packaged, specialty or medical gas business or similar positions within the hazardous materials or chemicals distribution industry.A working knowledge or experience with specialty, medical and industrial gases is preferredWorking knowledge of ISO, Six Sigma and lean manufacturing practicesMatheson is an Equal Opportunity Employer that complies with the laws and regulations set forth under EEOC.
