Linux Systems Administrator
Job Description:
Client is searching for a senior technical professional to join the team as a System Administrator (Sys Admin). Responsibilities for this position include support to software engineering during the development of a new OSS system by provisioning and managing the virtual environments (VM) and installing and configuring the Linux based Red Hat Operating System.
The Sys Admin will also monitor and maintain the system hardware performance. The position ensures that system hardware, software, and related procedures adhere to the system’s design and architecture.
This individual will manage system access user accounts and develop the procedures for system configuration to support production builds.
This individual will also assist program teams with technical analysis and support the testing and roll-out of new patches.
This position is ONSITE and located at L3Harris offices located in Melbourne, Florida
This position may require weekend, after hours or on-call rotations to meet program requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT Security or related field with minimum (9) years of prior related experience or Graduate degree with a minimum of (7) years of prior related experience.
Minimum of (2) years' experience working with RedHat.
Minimum of (2) years' experience with Storage Configuration and Troubleshooting (Preferably NetApp).
Minimum of (2) years' experience managing projects.
Minimum of (2) years' experience working independently and pushing tasks to completion.
Ability to obtain and maintain a FAA public trust clearance.
Must have:

Preferred Additional Skills:
Cisco Networking Experience.
Experience with continuous integration, build management, and/or automated test frameworks.
Hardware/software requirement verification/system validation experience.
Experience using SW development tools such as JIRA, Jenkins, etc.
Experience with AutoCAD and developing engineering drawings
Job Type: Contract
Pay: Up to $85.00 per hour
