Lead Software Engineer
Overview
In this role you will guide the design and delivery of scalable, secure, cloud-ready software that powers Roadrunner’s operations platform. You’ll shape architecture, modernize legacy systems, and establish patterns that sustain long-term growth, quality, and performance. You’ll work across product, security, and infrastructure teams to deliver observable, secure solutions that drive operational efficiency and customer experience. This is a forward-looking leadership role focused on impactful, cross-functional execution and technical excellence.

ResponsibilitiesLead software architecture and solution design for scalable, cloud-native systemsDrive end-to-end delivery of complex initiatives with a focus on quality and reliabilityAdvance cloud, DevOps, and platform capabilities including CI/CD and observabilityCollaborate with product, QA, infrastructure, data, and security teams to align on outcomesMentor engineers, enforce coding standards, and improve development practices
Key requirements8+ years of software development experience with the Microsoft technology stackBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)Deep expertise in .NET technologies (.NET 6/7/8, ASP.NET Core, Web API, Entity Framework Core)Experience building both modern and legacy .NET applications5+ years developing web applications using ASP.NET MVC/Core and modern front-end frameworks (Angular or React)Advanced proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS5+ years of Microsoft SQL Server experience, including performance tuning and database designExperience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and system integrationsHands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (App Service, Functions, Azure SQL, Storage, Application Insights)Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar)Strong background in automated testing, code quality practices, and observability toolsExperience with secure coding practices and application security conceptsProven ability to troubleshoot complex production issues and drive resolutionSystems thinkingOwnership and accountabilityClear communication across technical and business audiences.NET 6/7/8, ASP.NET Core, Web API, Entity Framework CoreASP.NET MVC/Core, Angular or ReactJavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS
