Mechanical Design EngineerIndustrial Systems & Conveyors | On-Site | North of Fort Worth, TXA growing engineering firm specializing in the design and installation of industrial material handling systems and conveyors is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its in-house team.This is a hands-on, design-focused role working on custom systems involving structural steel, plate fabrication, and conveyor solutions for industrial environments.The RoleThe Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for 3D modeling, system design, and engineering support for complex material handling and conveyor projects. This individual will work closely with internal teams to develop practical, fabrication-ready designs.This is a fully on-site position based north of Fort Worth.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and model industrial handling systems and conveyor equipmentCreate detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD-based software (Advanced Steel)Work with structural steel and plate design for custom systemsPerform or support FEA (Finite Element Analysis) for structural integrity and performanceCollaborate with internal teams on plant layout and system integrationEnsure designs are accurate, manufacturable, and aligned with project requirementsQualifications3–5+ years of experience in mechanical design and 3D modelingStrong experience with AutoCAD and 3D design tools (Advanced Steel preferred)Background in structural steel, plate fabrication, and/or conveyor systemsExperience with FEA software and analysisExposure to plant design or industrial system layoutsPreferred:Professional Engineer (PE) license in Mechanical or Civil/Structural EngineeringIndustry experience within material handling, conveyors, or similar industrial systemsAdditional NotesCandidates with SolidWorks experience are encouraged to apply; transition to Advanced Steel is typically straightforwardThis role requires strong practical design experience within industrial environmentsMust be comfortable working in a fully on-site, team-oriented settingWhy This OpportunityWork on highly customized, real-world industrial systemsStable, growing company with specialized expertiseOpportunity to deepen design, FEA, and system-level engineering experience
