Job Description The main function of an accountant is to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within an organization. A typical accountant is responsible for analyzing and communicating financial information for clients. Position’s Contributions to Work Group - Review accounting records, financial statements or other financial reports created by staff to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards. - Review and approve budgets and periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs. - Create recordkeeping and accounting systems. - Survey operations to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend and/or develop solutions to business and financial problems. - Collect and analyze data to detect deficient controls, duplicated effort, extravagance, fraud, or non-compliance with laws, regulations, and management policies. - Prepare, analyze, and verify annual reports, financial statements, and other records, using accepted accounting and statistical procedures to assess financial condition and facilitate financial planning. - Support Vice President of Engineering and Supply Chain and her direct reports regarding expenses and R&D reporting. Here, you can do the work that matters.” Why this Role? - This role offers a good opportunity to be part of a high performing team within Client's Building and Construction Products business located in Cary, North Carlonia. - Supports and provides financial guidance to the Vice President of Engineering and Supply Chain and her direct reports. - This position offers good exposure by delivering critical insights to help the senior leaders of the business make key decisions. Typical Day - Monthly actual reporting and comparison to annual business plan for the Engineering and Supply Chain group. - Annual Business Planning coordination for Engineering and Supply Chain group. - Work with Engineering and Supply Chain managers on Sourcing and New Product Introduction for components. - Monthly management of actual data database and visual reporting through Power BI. - Research and Engineering reporting and support. Interaction with team: - Collaborates with 10 global accounting coworkers. - Day to day collaboration with Engineering and Supply Chain managers throughout the business. Education Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in accounting or related financial discipline required. - An advanced degree in a financial discipline is preferred. - 8-10 years financial and/or accounting experience required. Technical Skills (Required) - General knowledge and experience in Accounting and Accounting principles. - Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft office software. (Desired) - SAP Experience. - Experience working with senior leaders. - Power BI experience. - Experience supporting an R&D or Supply Chain organization. Soft Skills (Required) - Strong communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of management. - Strong analytical mindset and ability to summarize large amounts of data into concise insights. - Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking. - Advanced ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
