Hiring by DMG MORI must be made in compliance with applicable regulations.The Cost Accountant is responsible for cost accounting tasks such as inventory evaluation, machine costs, WIP evaluation, month-end closing, financial analysis, and other general cost accounting activities.Essential Job Functions:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Responsibilities include up to but are not limited to:Month end and fiscal year end closing and post journal entriesAnalyze actual manufacturing costsProvide management with reports, study costs, and profitabilityCreate a workflow and manual of purchasing, inventory counting, and cost accounting for J-SOX auditing preparationCorrespond with shipping vendors and respond to inquiriesReview parts invoices and perform material analysisDetermine freight costs for each machineDetermine the inventory amount by the deadline of the monthly end closeReconcile raw materials, work in progress and finished goods inventory accountsAnalyze the variances between production costs and inventory counting resultsEstablish project cost analysis and new methods to enhance accuracy throughout daily work processSupport accounts payable tasks as neededPerform other related duties as required to meet the goals and objectives of the company and accounting department Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance-related degree.3+ years of general accounting experience in a manufacturing environmentERP system experience such as SAP, Oracle and Baan - preferredPositive, driven, professional and solution-oriented approach to daily workloadProficient knowledge of Microsoft Word and ExcelKnowledge of U.S. GAAPExceptional written and oral communication skillsProven analytical and critical thinking skills to include problem solving to research and analyze complex challengesAbility to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environmentWork Environment:General office environment will be experienced. There will be periodic exposure to manufacturing environments which may present hazards such as noise, electricity, chemicals, heavy equipment, and other automated and manual machinery.Physical Demands:Frequent: sitting at desk utilizing computers and phones.Periodic: standing, walking, repetitive foot, leg, hand, arm, shoulder, and torso movements.
