Job Overview Under close supervision and in accordance with detailed policies and procedures, receives, accessions, labels, and processes GYN and Non-GYN Cytology specimens. Additional duties include answering telephones, handling customer inquiries, performing printing of laboratory results, recording information into logs and/or documents, filing of requisitions and paperwork, and performing various other routine clerical duties. Assists with specimen preparation and packaging for dispatch to reference laboratories. Assists with placement of bodies and/or remains in morgue, and release of same to authorized agencies or persons. Must be capable of operating basic laboratory equipment and using various laboratory information systems. Qualifications Work requires a High School diploma or equivalent and one to two years of previous work related experience required. Basic Technical Training of three months or more preferred.
