Job Title CNC Laser and Press Brake Operator Department Manufacturing Hours 40 Salary $24.00-$25.00 Starting Responsible To Manufacturing Manager Responsible For N/A Purpose of the Role Production of metal parts, by setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintain quality and safety standards, keeping records as well as maintaining equipment and supplies. The operator will also assist in secondary downstream processes to include brake press operation and welding. Attention to detail required when checking all work i.e. ‘first off’ before carrying on to the next level. At all times carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the post in compliance with Halton Policies and Procedures. General Activities Health and Safety To ensure safe working practices are observed and the Health and Safety Policy is adhered to at all times including the use of required PPE. Reporting any hazards or incidents to the appropriate Safety representative. Compliance with OSHA standards To maintain a high standard of housekeeping at all times. Customer Service Representing the business in a positive and professional manner when greeting visitors in person. ROLE PROFILE Specific Activities Oversees machinery setup to make sure arrangement is safe and ready to handle its assigned load Loads correct material (gauge and finish) per order specifications Download and set the laser cutting machine to run the scheduled cutting programs Program, setup and operate press brake Regularly inspects machines for mechanical and safety issues Perform prescribed maintenance as required Validates process quality to ensure product is acceptable to move onto the next part of the production process Maintains and updates records Responsible for meeting production targets Maintain housekeeping standards PERSON SPECIFICATION The person specification is a picture of skills, knowledge and experience required to carry out the job. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (the level and breadth of knowledge to do the job, skills specific to do the job and proven experience) Essential Knowledge and experience with computer operated laser cutters and press brake equipment Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and job information packs Working knowledge of production manufacturing methods Problem solving Working knowledge of tooling and tool maintenance Safety and Quality focused Desirable Welding Experience Ability to write routine reports and correspondence EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS Essential Must be at least 18 years old Must be able to read, write and speak English Minimum 3-5 years of experience operating laser cutting equipment and press brakes Ability to read and interpret drawings and prints ROLE PROFILE Desirable Welding Certification and/or experience Ability and willingness for occasional international travel Other Useful Information You will be working within an Engineering/ Manufacturing environment so will need to adhere to safety regulations when out on the shop floor.
