Machining Technician
Location: Piedmont, SCShift: 2nd Shift, 3pm – 11:30pm (with 30 minute unpaid lunch break)Duration: Minimum 3 MonthsPosition OverviewWe are seeking a hands-on and mechanically inclined Contract Machining Technician to support a fast-paced, high-volume production machining environment in Piedmont, SC. This role is ideal for candidates with prior CNC or machining experience who are comfortable working around automated equipment, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and maintaining production flow while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.Unlike a traditional custom machine shop setting, this position operates in a high-volume manufacturing environment focused on consistent output, tight tolerances, equipment uptime, and continuous improvement. Candidates must be comfortable working with repetitive production processes, machine adjustments, and performance-driven metrics.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate and monitor CNC and machining equipment in a high-volume production settingPerform machine setups, changeovers, and minor adjustments to maintain production efficiencyUse precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges to verify product quality and dimensional accuracyAdjust machine offsets and settings as needed to maintain tolerances and reduce scrapTroubleshoot mechanical and operational issues on production equipment to minimize downtimeSupport preventative maintenance schedules and basic machine upkeepRespond to machine faults, sort stops, jams, or quality concerns in a timely mannerWork with automated and semi-automated systems including conveyors, robotics, and machining cellsAssist in maintaining organized, clean, and safe workstations following 5S standardsFollow all plant quality procedures, standard work instructions, and safety requirementsCross-train across multiple production lines or machining cells as neededRelieve Team Leads or assist in leadership support functions when requiredPreferred Experience / Technical BackgroundCandidates with experience in any of the following areas will be strongly preferred:CNC machining or production machining operationsLathe operationGrinding equipmentHeat treat processesAutomated manufacturing systemsFanuc robot exposure or robotic cell interactionMachine troubleshooting and root cause problem solvingPreventative maintenance in a manufacturing environmentHigh-speed/high-volume manufacturing production linesIdeal Candidate ProfileThe strongest candidates will be individuals who can combine machining knowledge with mechanical aptitude and production urgency.
