Senior Service Designer (Networking & Data Center IT Professional Services)

About the roleThe Service Designer translates customer requirements, business objectives, and engagement scope into delivery-ready service designs for complex IT infrastructure and transformation programs across workplace, networking, data center, and emerging technologies.This role owns the creation of the Service Design Package (SDP), defining how services will be executed across consulting, deployment, integration, and program management. The Service Designer ensures solutions are feasible, scalable, and commercially sound, aligned to Computacenter’s delivery capabilities and methodology.Working closely with Services Sales, Delivery, and Commercial Finance, the Service Designer defines the delivery model for each opportunity including WBS, staffing, assumptions, risks, and timelines. This is a critical role in sales campaign ensuring services are structured for successful and repeatable execution.What you'll be doingTranslate customer requirements and engagement scope into delivery-ready service designsDevelop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), task hierarchies, and delivery sequencingBuild staffing models, resource plans, and project timelinesOwn and produce the Service Design Package (SDP) including delivery approach, scope, and SOW inputsDefine and document assumptions, constraints, dependencies, and customer responsibilitiesDevelop effort-based cost inputs aligned to scope and delivery modelIdentify cost drivers, risks to margin, and optimization opportunitiesSupport pricing discussions through clear scope definition, assumptions, and trade-offsPartner with Services Sales, Delivery, PMO, and Commercial Finance to validate feasibility and alignmentEngage subject matter experts to validate design assumptions and delivery approachIdentify and document delivery risks, dependencies, and mitigation plansSupport deal governance, approvals, and compliance processesEnsure structured handoff from pre-sales to delivery teamsContribute to standardization, templates, and scalable service design frameworksEmbrace and support Computacenter’s mission and core values.What you haveBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field5–10 years of experience in IT services delivery, service design, solution architecture, or program delivery rolesPrior experience working in a systems integrator, IT services provider, or enterprise IT organizationProven experience supporting or building service delivery models for complex, multi-site or multi-workstream engagementsHands-on experience developing WBS, staffing models, delivery plans, or service documentationExposure to pre-sales, RFP, or bid response processes for services-led opportunitiesExperience working across multiple technology domains such as workplace, networking, and data centerFamiliarity with IT services delivery lifecycle, methodologies, and governance processesLegally eligible to work in the United StatesSelf-starting and results driven though clear prioritization of deliverablesAbility to identify and articulate risks, assumptions, dependencies, and constraintsExperience building staffing models, effort estimates, and resource plansStrong cross-functional collaboration skills across Sales, Delivery and PMO.Ability to operate effectively in high-velocity, ambiguous pre-sales environmentsStrong documentation and presentation skills across WBS, SOW inputs, process flows, and service artifactsProficiency in tools such as Excel (modeling), Visio/Lucid (workflows), PowerPoint (presentations), and Word (documentation)Working knowledge of IT infrastructure domains including workplace, networking, data center, and related servicesAbility to balance standardization and customization to drive repeatable, scalable service designsManaging and minimizing risk to bid deliverables and ensuring we always have the customer and customer deliverables in mindWhat you can expectThere’s so much more to enjoy about being at Computacenter than just having a rewarding career.
