Position Overview
Seeking a highly motivated Senior Network Engineer / Sr Applications Development Analyst to join our client’s site in Richardson, TX. This role will support the architecture, deployment, and operational support of Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) solutions for a mission-critical semiconductor manufacturing site. The position partners with cross-functional engineering and IT teams to design, develop, and deploy network infrastructure that digitizes and optimizes manufacturing and business operations. Responsibilities include supporting Cisco-based network infrastructure, implementing Special Use Networks (SUN), migrating authentication infrastructure, enabling advanced automation technologies, and maintaining secure, resilient, and high-availability network environments.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
· Architect, deploy, and support IT and OT solutions for manufacturing operations.
· Provide operational support for on-premises network infrastructure, from SD-WAN-based Enterprise Wide Network (EWN) to sensor-level communications.
· Support Manufacturing and Site Network Infrastructure in both virtual and physical environments.
· Support Cisco-based LAN, WLAN, and IoT communication technologies.
· Migrate the site from an EWN/global authentication model to a site-level domain controller authentication model.
· Develop and deploy Special Use Networks (SUN) to secure semiconductor manufacturing environments.
· Collaborate with process, equipment, and advanced manufacturing engineering teams to enable network-level equipment integration and automation.
· Troubleshoot network performance issues across the IT/OT architecture.
· Support implementation and rollout of switches, firewalls, wireless infrastructure, and monitoring tools.
· Participate in cross-functional meetings with site and corporate teams to resolve network-related issues.
· Attend daily factory systems and manufacturing operations tier meetings to provide network support and updates.
· Work closely with Corporate IT and Global Security teams to ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards.
· Maintain network documentation, including topology diagrams, configuration records, and change logs.
· Ensure network resilience, redundancy, and high availability through proper design and proactive maintenance.
· Monitor and manage network health, performance, and capacity using appropriate tools and dashboards.
· Support AI-based semiconductor automation, equipment integration, Fault Detection and Classification (FDC), and Advanced Process Control (APC) infrastructure.
Main Qualifications:
· Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
· Experience: 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise and industrial network infrastructure in manufacturing or site environments.
· Hands-on experience with Cisco networking and routing equipment.
· Strong background supporting factory floor networking (Level 2/3 OT) and collaboration with IT networks (Level 3.5/4).
· Proficiency with: Firewall configuration, VPN setup, VLANs, Subnetting, IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, NAT, Routing, Switching.
· Experience with high availability, redundancy, and Quality of Service (QoS) protocols.
· Experience with network segmentation, resilience, and disaster recovery strategies.
· Familiarity with DevOps network operations, including:
· CI/CD integration for network changes
· Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
· Monitoring and alerting pipelines
· Version control and automated deployment
· 2+ years of experience with PowerShell scripting.
· 1+ years of experience with Service Management platforms (e.g., ServiceNow).
· Strong ability to document network architecture, automation scripts, and system configurations.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Advanced degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
· Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or equivalent.
· Experience with multi-vendor network equipment (e.g., Cisco, Arista, Dell, Palo Alto).
· Experience with network patching tools (e.g., Tanium, CHEF) and network security hardening practices.
· Experience supporting data protection and recovery platforms (e.g., Rubrik, Veeam, Commvault, Zerto).
· Strong understanding of IT/OT convergence, including:
· Industrial protocols
· SCADA systems
· MES platforms
· Equipment integration
· Manufacturing-focused Windows-based PCs and servers
· Knowledge of industrial network architectures, including layered models, DMZs, secure remote access, and redundant topologies.
· Demonstrated ability to drive organizational change, improve processes, and promote cross-functional collaboration.
· Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
· Strong problem-solving and solution design abilities.
· Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
