We deliver practical, field-proven engineering solutions supporting capital equipment installations, plant modernizations, industrial automation projects, infrastructure improvements, and process optimization initiatives.Our work integrates mechanical, electrical, controls, structural, and process engineering disciplines to execute real-world projects in active manufacturing and industrial environments.About the RoleThe Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing small to medium-sized industrial engineering and capital projects while supporting larger projects under the direction of an Engineering Project Manager.Projects may include capital equipment installations, plant modifications, industrial automation and controls integration, facility upgrades, process improvements, and infrastructure improvements within manufacturing and industrial facilities.This position combines technical engineering expertise with project coordination responsibilities. The Project Engineer works closely with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal team members to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with customer objectives. The ideal candidate is self-driven, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities while communicating effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.Essential ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & ExecutionLead assigned projects from concept through startup and closeout while supporting larger projects under the direction of an Engineering Project Manager.Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, cost estimates, and resource plans.Track project progress, milestones, costs, and schedule performance, communicating status to clients and stakeholders.Assist with proposal development, estimating, and project planning activities.Coordinate and facilitate project meetings as required.Engineering & Technical SupportProvide engineering support, calculations, design assistance, and technical problem solving.Develop, review, and interpret engineering drawings, layouts, specifications, and technical documentation.Support conceptual engineering, scope development, and project execution activities.Perform field verification, site assessments, and installation reviews.Construction & Field CoordinationCoordinate contractors, suppliers, and project resources to support successful project execution.Support construction management, equipment installation, startup, and commissioning activities.Verify installations comply with project drawings, specifications, schedules, budgets, and safety requirements.Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering personnel, and contractors throughout project implementation.Safety & Client SupportPromote safe work practices and ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, client standards, and applicable regulations.Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders while representing PTS professionally.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Civil/Structural preferred).2+ years of engineering experience in industrial or manufacturing environments.Experience supporting or managing engineering and capital projects.Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.Willingness to travel to client facilities as needed.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting capital equipment installation projects.Experience with industrial automation and controls projects.Experience with construction coordination and contractor management.Familiarity with manufacturing processes and industrial systems.Experience with startup and commissioning activities.Technical SkillsProficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.Familiarity with project scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software is a plusCompensation & BenefitsFull-time positionSalary range: $70,000 – $90,000, commensurate with experiencePaid holidays and PTOFlexible work scheduleHealth, vision, and dental insurance availableRetirement plan with employer matchProfessional development and career growth opportunities
