Process Engineer - Composite

We are seeking a highly motivated Composite Materials & Process Engineer to join our aerospace engineering team in Mesa, Arizona. In this role, you will support advanced aerospace platforms by developing, qualifying, and optimizing composite materials and manufacturing processes. You will split your time between office, laboratory, and production floor environments, working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams to solve complex manufacturing challenges and support cutting-edge aerospace programs. Key Responsibilities: Apply chemistry, physics, and material science principles to develop and qualify composite materials and processing methods Provide technical evaluation and materials/process support for composite part fabrication Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions for materials and process issues Create and execute test plans and prepare technical reports Develop specifications for materials, tools, and processes Qualify and approve equipment, materials, and manufacturing processes Support and guide material testing activities in the Materials & Processes Laboratory Collaborate with Design Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement teams Travel to supplier sites as needed Integrate new technologies and promote process standardization across product lines Manage test/audit programs and ensure regulatory and contractual compliance Incorporate Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), LEAN, and Quality principles into daily work Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, or Computer Science Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment Preferred Qualifications: 1+ years of experience working with composites, elastomers, and associated processing techniques Hands-on lab experience with polymer chemistry analytical techniques Knowledge of epoxy, cyanate ester, bismaleimide, urethane, polyimide, reinforcements, and adhesives Experience with composite failure modes and failure analysis Experience creating technical specifications, reports, and test plans Ability to read engineering drawings Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools Experience delivering technical presentations and briefings Pay: $60.00 - $75.00 per hour Benefits: Dental insurance Health insurance Relocation assistance Vision insurance Education: Bachelor's (Required) Experience: Composite Material: 2 years (Required) Aerospace: 1 year (Preferred) Work Location: In person
