Responsibilities include handling a caseload from inception through trial involving substantial litigation defense and may include a variety of practice areas such as nursing home negligence, medical/dental malpractice and general liability.The firm offers a dynamic work environment that provides substantial opportunities for professional development with mentorship and advancement within the firm.Office Location: Financial District, NYCResponsibilities: Draft, prepare and handle pleadings, motions, orders and legal memorandaDraft and respond to written discovery and dispositive motionsConduct legal research competently and with proficiencyConduct fact witness meetingsPrepare and take depositions of partiesAttend court conferences and orally argue motionsReview client documents, draft case evaluations and status reportsAssist with and participate in mediationsInteract directly with clients, claim professionals, opposing counsel, colleagues and staffProactively work independently and as part of a teamDemonstrate strong legal research and analytical skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong attention to detail with superb organization and prioritization skillsKnowledge of state court proceduresQualifications:JD from an ABA accredited law schoolAdmitted to practice in the state of New York (New Jersey a plus)2-6+ years of litigation defense experiencePlease submit your resume to apply!
