Embedded Software Design & Verification EngineerLocation: Rockford, Illinois or Plano, Texas (Onsite/Hybrid depending on project needs) Duration: Long-term position Industry: Aerospace / Safety-Critical Embedded Systems English Level: Advanced Rate: OpenProject Overview We are looking for an experienced Embedded Software Design & Verification Engineer to support advanced aerospace and safety-critical engineering projects. The role focuses on embedded software development, verification, and validation activities within DO-178C DAL A regulated environments.This is a highly technical opportunity involving collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams supporting software architecture, testing, traceability, debugging, compliance activities, and FPGA verification efforts.Main Requirements • 7+ years of Embedded Software Engineering experience • Strong hands-on experience with Embedded C • Experience working in DO-178C DAL A environments • Background in avionics, aerospace, or other safety-critical industries • Experience with communication protocols such as Ethernet, SPI, RS485, CAN, and I2C • Strong debugging, verification, and validation experience • Familiarity with requirements traceability and compliance documentationPreferred Tools / Technologies • DOORS • Git • MS Visio • AMD Vitis • ARM C Compiler • Lauterbach Trace32 • FPGA verification and debuggingIf you currently have consultants who may be a good fit, we would greatly appreciate it if you could share their updated resumes, availability, and rate expectations.
