AMR EngineerLocation: Highland Park, MI6 month Contract-to-Hire$100,000-$120,000 (DOE)We are unable to provide sponsorship at this time.Brooksource is seeking an AMR Engineer to support advanced automation initiatives within a Tier 1 Automotive Suppliers manufacturing operations. This individual will be responsible for the implementation, optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) systems used for material handling, production support, and logistics automation.The ideal candidate has experience working with AMR platforms, industrial automation technologies, and manufacturing operations. This engineer will partner with Production, Engineering, Logistics, Maintenance, and IT teams to improve material flow, increase operational efficiency, and support smart factory initiatives.What You'll DoDesign, configure, and optimize Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) systems within a high-volume manufacturing environmentLead and support the deployment of new AMRs, automated material delivery routes, charging stations, and traffic management systemsTroubleshoot AMR-related issues including navigation, fleet management, network connectivity, sensors, and safety systemsPerform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to reduce downtime and improve system reliabilityPartner with Operations, Logistics, and Plant Engineering teams to improve material flow, throughput, productivity, and overall plant efficiencyConfigure facility maps, workflows, traffic zones, pickup/drop-off locations, and mission scheduling within AMR software platformsSupport integration of AMRs with manufacturing equipment, conveyors, WMS, MES, and other automation technologiesDevelop and maintain technical documentation including system layouts, operating procedures, preventative maintenance plans, and engineering standardsTrain maintenance, logistics, and production personnel on AMR operation, troubleshooting, and safety proceduresEnsure AMR systems comply with OSHA, MIOSHA, and internal safety requirementsSupport continuous improvement initiatives aligned with Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing objectivesRequired ExperienceBachelor's degree in Robotics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field4+ years of experience supporting AMRs, AGVs, robotics, or industrial automation systemsExperience implementing, programming, configuring, or supporting AMR platforms in a manufacturing or warehouse environmentStrong understanding of mobile robotics technologies including: Autonomous navigation, LiDAR, Vision systems, Localization and mappingWorking knowledge of PLCs, sensors, industrial networking, and automation controlsUnderstanding of wireless communication protocols and industrial network infrastructureAbility to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and system schematicsExperience working cross-functionally within manufacturing operationsStrong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environmentNice to HaveExperience with AMR platforms such as MiR, OTTO Motors, Seegrid, Fetch Robotics, Geek+, or similar technologiesExperience integrating AMRs with WMS, MES, ERP, or warehouse automation systemsExperience with Fleet management software, troubleshooting automated systems and driving root cause analysisExposure to Industry 4.0, smart factory, or digital manufacturing initiativesExperience supporting new automation launches, expansions, or facility retrofitsAutomotive manufacturing experienceExperience leading automation projects from concept through implementationFamiliarity with simulation, facility mapping, and fleet optimization toolsLean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experienceEight Eleven Group provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, citizenship, disability, genetic information, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, amnesty, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws
