Legal Billing Specialist (Hybrid) Midtown Manhattan, NY (Must have Aderant or Elite3E Experience) Contract to Hire | $30hr $40hr (DOE)We are partnering with a prestigious firm in Midtown Manhattan to hire a Legal Billing Specialist. This is a high-visibility, client-facing role responsible for managing the full lifecycle of client billing and engagement operations. Youll work closely with partners and a small, collaborative team to ensure a seamless billing process and exceptional client experience. Key Responsibilities:Manage the full billing cycle, including onboarding, engagement setup, invoicing, collections, and reporting Prepare and review monthly draft bills, resolve discrepancies, and finalize invoices in collaboration with partners Ensure compliance with client-specific billing guidelines and firm policies, including e-billing requirements Serve as a key point of contact for clients and accounts payable teams, maintaining professionalism and responsiveness Support collections efforts by monitoring outstanding balances and resolving delinquent accounts Review and maintain accurate client and matter data within internal systems Administer engagement letters, ensuring timely issuance, accuracy, and proper execution Respond to billing and time entry inquiries, partnering with attorneys and internal stakeholders Assist with WIP and A/R adjustments, write-offs, refunds, and reporting requirements Maintain organized records in accordance with firm policies and regulatory standards What Were Looking For:36+ years of legal billing experience, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment Strong understanding of billing cycles, WIP, A/R, and collections processes Experience with e-billing platforms and client billing guidelines High attention to detail with strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Excellent communication skills with a confident, professional presence Why This Opportunity:High-impact role with direct exposure to partners and clients Hybrid flexibility in a prime Midtown Manhattan location Collaborative, team-oriented environment Competitive compensation and long-term growth potential
