Dental Hygienist

As a Dental Hygienist at Callen-Lorde, you will provide comprehensive dental care to our patients, ensuring adherence to current clinical standards and laws. You will deliver care with sensitivity and compassion, making appropriate referrals when necessary. We expect a high degree of professional competence, ethical standards, and teamwork from all our staff. General Responsibilities Provide dental hygiene services (cleanings, oral health education, periodontal therapy) Maintain and document accurate patient records in EHR (EPIC) Collaborate with dentists and other healthcare professionals Participate in quality improvement initiatives Maintain productivity standards through appropriate scheduling and monitoring of no-show rates Participate in department educational; programs and continuing professional education, and training of dental residents. Schedule The Oral Health Department is open Monday through Friday. Some evening hours are required. Familiarity with New York State Dental Medicaid/ADAP guidelines Certification of completion of oral cancer detection mandate course Experience serving Callen-Lorde’s target populations preferred.
