General Manager
Reports To: President of CHMI or Regional ManagerPhysical:Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and employees. Must be able to read and write clearly and effectively. Must exhibit well-paced mobility to visit various departments of the facility in keeping with the daily demands of the position. Must be able to drive a vehicle, travel by airplane, inspect all premises, and be able to assist a guest in an emergency situation. Must have valid driver's license and insurability for driving. Personality:Outgoing and positive attitude. Handles pressure with poise and finesse. Provides leadership and professional image. Relationships:All hotel and CHMI staff, guests, local relationships, and franchise representatives. Primary Responsibilities:Oversee day-to-day operations Design strategy and set goals for growth Maintain budgets and optimize expenses Set policies and processes Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally Oversee the recruitment and training of new employees Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance Direct the employee assessment process Prepare regular reports for upper management Ensure staff follows health and safety regulations Provide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors) SKILLS:Proven experience as a General Manager or similar executive role Experience in planning and budgeting Knowledge of business processes and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations, etc.) Excellent communication skills Outstanding organizational and leadership skills Problem-solving aptitude
