Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting & Office Manager to support Frolic's day-to-day financial operations across the company and its development entity LLCs. Reporting to the Controller, this role will own core accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoice processing, and month-end support, while also helping keep the office running smoothly. The model is designed to bring homeownership within reach for generational renters and first-time homebuyers.Frolic partners with single-family homeowners who have greater development potential on their land and who want to age in place, house their communities, and help shape the future of their neighborhoods. The company currently has 6 projects in development and more than 30 in its pipeline and is looking for team members who combine strong execution skills with a passion for the mission.Learn more: Frolic CommunityAbout the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting & Office Manager to support Frolic's day-to-day financial operations across the company and its development entity LLCs. Reporting to the Controller, this role will own core accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoice processing, and month-end support, while also keeping the office operating efficiently.This is a hands-on role well suited for someone who takes pride in accurate, timely work, thrives in a dynamic small-team environment, and is excited to grow with a mission-driven company reshaping how housing gets built.Responsibilities • Process and code incoming invoices across multiple entities, ensuring accurate GL categorization and timely entry into Bill.com and accounting systems.• Manage accounts payable workflows, including tracking due dates, preparing weekly payables reports for Controller review, and coordinating payment runs following CFO approval.• Support accounts receivable functions including invoicing, payment tracking, and follow-up on outstanding balances.• Assist with month-end close activities including bank reconciliations, accrual entries, and financial data review.• Maintain organized, audit-ready records of all financial transactions across Frolic Community Inc. and its development entity LLCs.• Coordinate with the Controller on reporting for development managers and project-level financial summaries.• Liaise with vendors and payees on invoice corrections, new payee onboarding (W-9s, payment setup), and general inquiries.• Support payroll coordination, expense reporting, and other finance-adjacent administrative tasks as needed.• Manage general office operations including supply ordering, vendor coordination, mail handling, and maintaining a productive in-office environment.• Provide ad hoc administrative support to leadership and fill gaps as needed. You communicate clearly, follow up proactively, and bring a calm, professional presence to a fast-moving team.You care about the mission of helping more people access homeownership and want to contribute meaningfully at a company where your work is visible and valued.Required Qualifications • 3–5+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related finance role.• Strong working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger coding.• Hands-on experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms, along with bill payment systems such as Bill.com.• High proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets and broader Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 tools.• Excellent attention to detail and a track record of accurate, timely work.• Ability to manage multiple entities and priorities simultaneously without losing track of details.• Strong written and verbal communication skills and comfort coordinating with vendors, team members, and leadership.• Comfort working in a small, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where responsibilities evolve and initiative is rewarded.• Must be authorized to work in the United States.Preferred Qualifications • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field.• Experience supporting a Controller or CFO in a multi-entity or real estate development environment.• Familiarity with project-level accounting or cost tracking for development or construction projects.• Experience with HR-adjacent functions such as payroll processing or onboarding coordination.• People who enjoy collaboration, self-awareness, and creating a positive work environment.What We Offer This is a full-time position based in the Seattle metro area. Employees are expected to work in-office at Frolic’s Capitol Hill office a minimum of 3 days per week, with flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days per week.Compensation includes: • Base salary commensurate with experience • 80% company contribution toward medical, dental, and vision benefits • Up to 3.5% employer match on the company-sponsored 401(k) plan • Equity options in FrolicFrolic is an equal opportunity employer.
