Project Manager

Location: Newark, New Jersey- Candidate must be local/commutable and able to go into the office 3 days per week.Job Description:Client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead large-scale IT initiatives supporting utility clients and critical energy infrastructure programs. This role focuses on delivering complex, high-impact projects across multiple business areas, including grid modernization, enterprise systems, and customer-facing platforms, within a highly regulated environment.As a trusted partner to our clients, Leidos delivers solutions that enhance reliability, resiliency, and operational performance. The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering projects on time and within budget while ensuring alignment with organizational goals and PMO standards. This role requires strong leadership, executive-level communication skills, and the ability to drive initiatives from concept through implementation.Key ResponsibilitiesLead cross-functional project teams, managing scope, schedule, cost, and contract compliance while serving as the primary customer interfacePlan, coordinate, and execute large-scale IT projects across the full project lifecycleDevelop and maintain project management plans, ensuring alignment with organizational and PMO standardsDefine project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholdersEstablish and manage work breakdown structures (WBS), schedules, and resource plans in coordination with project schedulersManage project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, tracking actuals, and reporting accrualsIdentify, assess, and mitigate project risks; proactively manage issues and dependenciesEnsure requirements are gathered, documented, reviewed, and approved in accordance with established processesLead governance reviews and provide regular status reporting, dashboards, and executive-level communicationsMonitor project progress, milestones, and deliverable quality to ensure successful outcomesRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)8+ years of experience managing IT projects, including scope, schedule, and budgetPMP (Project Management Professional) certification requiredExperience supporting Microsoft 365 environmentsLed cross-functional coordination across Workplace, Infrastructure, and Security teams to deliver identity-driven access and endpoint modernization effortsStrong understanding of project management methodologies and PMO processesProven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders, including senior leadershipExperience managing project financials, including forecasting and variance analysisExcellent communication and presentation skills, with demonstrated customer-facing experienceStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environmentProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Smartsheet, Primavera or similar project management toolsAbility to maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection standardsPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting utility or energy sector clientsExperience managing large, complex, or multi-year programsFamiliarity with agile or hybrid delivery methodologiesPosition Details:Pay Rate / Range:$57-$62_The above salary range represents the range expected for the position; however, final salary offers are based on a number of factors such as the position's responsibilities; the candidate's experience, education, and skills; location; travel required; and current market conditions.Benefits (Regular, Full Time Employees):Medical, Dental, and Vision offeringsWeekly Direct DepositPaid Holidays and Personal Time Off401(k) with matchVoluntary Life and AD&D, Short / Long Term Disability, plus other voluntary coveragesPre-Paid Legal and Employee Assistance ProgramsNorthwest Federal Credit Union MembershipBB&T @ Work ProgramThis program requires US Citizenship or Green Card (Lawful Permanent Residents)ABBTECH is an EOE/Minorities/Women/Disabled Individuals/Veterans
