Your role will be pivotal in ensuring project success through top-notch testing services, fostering strong client relationships, and enhancing operational efficiency. You will balance team management with personal project contributions, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency. Your leadership will be key in client coordination, managing multiple projects concurrently, and upholding the highest safety standards.Direction and Scheduling:Provide supervision and oversight to field staff, organize schedules with clients and contractors, and manage personnel for field assignments.Coordination:Frequently coordinate with Services Managers and Project Managers on the progress of current and upcoming projects.Training and Certifications:Train staff on field testing and inspections, oversee certification opportunities, andmaintaina summary of current employee certifications.Safety:Lead safety efforts for field staff, conduct regular safety meetings, and coach staff on the use of PPE and safety protocols.Equipment and Quality:Ensure staff haveappropriate testingequipment,assistwith equipment maintenance and calibration, and support the Quality Assurance Supervisor.WhoWe'reLooking For:We are looking for someone who brings a steady,solutionsorientedleadership style and thrives in afastpaced,fieldfocusedenvironment. You value accountability, clear communication, and consistency, and you take pride in building trust with both clients and coworkers through professionalism andfollowthrough.Qualifications:Education:High School diploma or GEDBachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical engineering or a construction-related field is a plusExperience:Minimumof 2 years of experience in construction materials testing/inspecting ofsoil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphaltExperience in a supervisory or management roleCertifications:Active Construction Materials industry certifications such as:American Concrete Institute (ACI):Field Testing Grade I; Strength Testing Technician; Laboratory Technicianand/orInternational Code Council (ICC):Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, Soils), a plusKey Competencies:Strongcommunicationskills(speaking, reading, and writing) using the English languageWorking Conditions and Physical Demands:This role involves hands-on work in outdoor environments, and with Company-providedPersonal Protection Equipment (PPE),you'llneed to be comfortable with:Working outdoors in varying weather conditionsWalking over rough, uneven terrain and standing(potentially up to 12 hours a day)Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs (field/laboratory samples and equipment)Working outside of normal business hours and traveling (typically out-of-town and/or overnight) as project needs ariseWe Are S&ME:At S&ME,we'recommitted to your growth, professionally and personally.
