PDF to Xactimate ESX ConversionProject OverviewWardlaw Claims Service LLC is seeking a contract for a Python Developer for a 30–60-day project to develop an automated solution that converts insurance estimate PDFs into Xactimate ESX files. The consultant will analyze source PDFs, extract estimate data, map data to Xactimate-compatible line items, and generate ESX output files for import into Xactimate.Project Duration Contract: 30-60 Days Remote work acceptable Project-based engagement Potential for additional work based on project success Required Skills 3+ years of Python development experience. Experience extracting data from PDF files. Experience with: pdfplumber PyPDF2 pdfminer pandas openpyxl lxml XML processing libraries Experience with OCR solutions such as: Tesseract Azure Document Intelligence AWS Textract Strong understanding of JSON, XML, CSV, and data transformation techniques. Experience building ETL and automation workflows. Ability to work with inconsistent document formats. Preferred Skills Experience with Xactimate. Experience creating or editing ESX files. Property insurance claims industry experience. Experience with construction estimating software. Knowledge of Xactimate line items and estimating workflows. SQL database experience. PowerShell scripting experience. Project DeliverablesThe selected contractor will be expected to: Analyze source PDF estimate formats. Develop automated PDF extraction logic. Create data-mapping rules from PDF data to ESX structure. Generate valid ESX output files. Build error handling and validation processes. Document the conversion workflow. Deliver source code and deployment instructions. Assist with testing and refinement using sample files. Desired OutcomesThe completed solution should: Convert PDFs to ESX with minimal manual intervention. Support multiple estimate formats where possible. Achieve a high level of data extraction accuracy. Produce import-ready ESX files. Include logging and exception reporting. Ideal Candidate Has previously worked with insurance estimating systems. Can provide examples of PDF parsing or document automation projects. Is comfortable working independently. Can communicate progress regularly and meet aggressive deadlines. Work Location: Remote
