Warehouse Safety SpecialistLocation: Lafayette, IN (On-site)Travel: Up to 25% (approximately one week per month)Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000 DOEPosition SummaryWe are seeking a proactive and experienced Warehouse Safety Specialist to lead and enhance our safety programs across warehouse operations. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a strong, safety-first culture.The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in safety management within a warehouse or industrial environment and will partner closely with operations leadership, drivers, and site teams to reduce risk, improve safety performance, and promote best practices.Key ResponsibilitiesRegulatory Compliance & Risk ManagementEnsure full compliance with OSHA and all applicable federal and state safety regulationsLead OSHA-related activities including recordkeeping, reporting, inspections, and hazard mitigationMaintain current knowledge of safety regulations and industry best practicesAdminister safety policies, corrective actions, and risk mitigation strategiesSafety Programs & Training Design, develop, and deliver engaging safety training programs for associates and leadershipConduct new hire safety orientations and onboarding sessionsOversee equipment certification programs to ensure OSHA complianceIncident & Accident Management Lead incident and accident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action planningMaintain accurate safety records and documentationPartner with operations teams to reduce incident frequency and associated costsAuditing & Continuous Improvement Conduct facility inspections, audits, and safety assessments across multiple locationsMonitor safety metrics and provide regular reporting to leadershipIdentify trends and recommend improvements to processes, procedures, and overall safety cultureCollaboration & Leadership Serve as a trusted safety advisor to warehouse leadership and employeesPartner cross-functionally to strengthen safety engagement and accountabilityPromote a proactive, behavior-based safety culture through coaching and communicationQualificationsRequired 3+ years of safety management experience in logistics, warehousing, or industrial environmentsOSHA 30 certification (required)Experience leading incident investigations and implementing corrective actionsAbility to travel up to 25%Proficiency with incident reporting systems and safety documentationPreferred Experience with ammonia refrigeration and/or certificationKnowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulationsExperience training adult learners in hands-on environmentsFamiliarity with transportation equipment and warehouse operationsPhysical Requirements Ability to sit or stand for extended periods in both office and warehouse environmentsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs occasionallyComfortable working in varying indoor and outdoor conditionsEducation High school diploma or equivalent required
