Software Engineer-Java DeveloperRed Arch is hiring a Software Engineer-Java Developer to join our team! We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to modernize a critical government information system. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in enterprise Java application development and a proven track record of upgrading complex software infrastructures in secure, regulated environments. You will be responsible for planning and executing upgrades across our technology stack, including Apache Solr with Zookeeper, Apache Tomcat, Apache Directory Studio, and Java/Python components running on Windows-based VMware infrastructure. Strong knowledge of Oracle 19c database integration, SAP Business Intelligence reporting frameworks, secure coding practices, and upgrading and migrating Solr index data is essential. Experience with PrimeFaces UI framework is a plus. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including security, infrastructure, and business stakeholders—to ensure seamless upgrades with minimal operational disruption.Position Responsibilities:Plan and execute technology stack upgrades for enterprise Java applications in secure government environmentsDevelop and maintain Java/Python components on Windows-based VMware infrastructureModernize legacy application code to current standards and best practicesImplement secure coding practices in compliance with government security requirementsInfrastructure & Integration:Upgrade Apache Solr clusters with Zookeeper coordinationMigrate and optimize Solr index data during version upgradesManage Apache Tomcat application server configurations and deploymentsIntegrate applications with Oracle 19c database systemsWork with Apache Directory Studio for directory services integrationSupport SAP Business Intelligence reporting framework integrationsCollaboration & Documentation:Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and business stakeholder teamsEnsure minimal operational disruption during system upgradesDocument technical designs, upgrade procedures, and system configurationsParticipate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessionsEducation and Experience: 13+ Years of experience in Systems or IT related roles or a highly related field of work with similar scope and responsibilities.
