Science Teacher -Grades 6-12 (Bilingual – Spanish)Location: Dilley, Texas Organization: South Texas Center for Academic & Student Support a Division of Successful Practices Network (SPN)Schedule: Full-Time | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM | Year-Round Position OverviewSPN is seeking a Texas state-certified, bilingual (Spanish-speaking) Grade 6-12 Science Teacher to deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in a predominantly non-English-speaking classroom. The ideal candidate will foster inquiry-based learning, support language development, and help students build critical thinking and problem-solving skills through scientific exploration.Key Responsibilities· Deliver high-quality science instruction (e.g., biology, chemistry, or integrated science) aligned to Texas state standards · Utilize inquiry-based, hands-on, and experiential learning strategies · Differentiate instruction to meet diverse academic and language needs · Integrate English language development into science instruction · Monitor student progress, attendance, and engagement; maintain accurate grade records · Communicate expectations clearly and provide timely, constructive feedback · Ensure safe handling of materials, equipment, and lab procedures · Collaborate with colleagues to improve instructional practices and student outcomes · Utilize technology and student information systems (SIS) for instruction and reporting Minimum Qualifications· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution· Valid Texas Teaching Certification (Science, Grades 6–12 preferred) · Bilingual in Spanish (required) · ESL Certified or in process of obtaining certification· Ability to pass federal background check requirements Preferred Qualifications· Master’s degree in science, education, or related field · Experience working with English language learners · Experience with lab-based and project-based instruction · Familiarity with technology-driven or blended learning environments Skills & Abilities· Strong communication and interpersonal skills · Ability to simplify complex scientific concepts for diverse learners · Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and classroom management · Experience with student information systems (SIS) · Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and manage classroom/lab materials · Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout instructional periodsCompensation & Benefits· Salary $85,000Includes:-401(k) with employer match-$9000 yearly Lifestyle & Wellness Stipend (to be used at your discretion for health insurance premiums and travel costs)-We offer a generous paid time off package that includes 8 company holidays, two weeks of paid winter break, one week of paid spring break, two weeks of paid summer break, and 10 days of flexible vacation/sick leave-Optional Voluntary Benefits: Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance available (100% employee-paid via payroll deduction)Additional Information: This position is full-time and year-round.
