Electrical Instructor - ConEd - Part time

Job SummaryMitchell Community College is seeking a qualified instructor to deliver training in Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) installation and related electrical coursework within the Continuing Education division. This position supports workforce development by preparing students for industry-recognized credentials, employment in electrical and energy sectors, and career advancement opportunities. The instructor may also deliver required continuing education (CE) training for licensed electricians in North Carolina. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience RequirementsEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Deliver EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) training, including installation, maintenance, safety, and applicable codes and standards Teach electrical-related continuing education courses aligned with North Carolina state requirements for license renewalProvide instruction aligned with clearly defined learning outcomes, measurable skill attainment, and credential readinessSupport students in progressing through short-term workforce training pathways leading to employment or advancement Maintain accurate and timely documentation of attendance, participation, and student progress in accordance with college, state, and federal (Workforce Pell) guidelines Assist with student engagement and retention efforts, including early identification of attendance or performance concernsEnsure all course delivery aligns with NCCCS standards, college policies, and financial aid compliance requirements (including attendance verification and satisfactory progress expectations)Stay current with industry trends, code updates (NEC), and emerging technologies in EV and electrical systemsProvide hands-on and classroom instruction in a safe, engaging learning environmentEquity in Learning & Employment: Equity and belonging are crucial to who we are.
