Digital Marketing & AI Workflow Intern
About the RoleThis is a paid, full-time summer internship designed for current college students (juniors/seniors) and recent graduates who want real experience at the intersection of email marketing, CRM, and applied AI in a live e‑commerce environment.For strong performers, there is an opportunity for this summer internship to extend or convert into a full-time position after the summer.You’ll work on-site with our marketing teams to:Build and optimize email marketing campaigns using our CRM and email tools (such as HubSpot).Create and refine copy for emails and product spotlights tailored to wine collectors and first-time buyers.Support CRM and list management, keeping customer data clean, organized, and useful for segmentation and targeting.Assist with website and social content focused on wine education, new arrivals, and promotions.Input and update wine critic scores, tasting notes, and pricing, highlighting the most relevant information for our audience.Use AI tools to boost productivity, streamline workflows, and support marketing, sales, and internal operations.What You’ll DoAssist in designing, building, and scheduling email campaigns using existing templates and workflows in our CRM.Review past campaigns to identify what worked, what didn’t, and where we can improve.Draft and proof content for email, and basic website updates with a sharp eye for detail.Help upgrade templates with images, personalization, segmentation, and advanced features.Support database and list management within our CRM, including subscriber maintenance and basic verification tasks.Contribute to social and website content around wine regions, producers, and featured offers.Perform data entry and light analysis related to inventory, pricing, and promotions.Experiment with AI tools to streamline everyday tasks, document best practices, and share wins with the team.AI Skills & Mindset (Key Focus)We are especially excited about candidates who are passionate about using AI in practical, real-world ways to improve workflow and customer experience.Comfortable using tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar AI platforms for research, drafting, summarizing, and idea generation.Able to use AI responsibly: you know AI output must be reviewed, edited, and checked for accuracy and brand fit.Interested in exploring how AI can support email marketing, content creation, segmentation, reporting, and internal documentation.Bonus: exposure to automation tools (HubSpot AI features, Shopify AI apps, etc.).Bonus: any class project, internship, or personal project where you used AI to improve a business process, automate a workflow, or analyze data.RequirementsCurrent college student (ideally junior or senior) or recent university graduate in Marketing, Communications, Business, Data/Analytics, Journalism, or a related field.Strong writing and editing skills; you can adapt tone for a luxury brand audience.High attention to detail with both words and numbers.Some exposure to digital or email marketing (coursework, clubs, internships, or personal projects).Genuine interest in wine, luxury goods, or hospitality, and willingness to learn about regions, producers, and tasting notes.Organized, proactive, and able to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-moving environment.Must be able to work on-site in Carlsbad, CA for the duration of the summer internship (on-site only).Preferred / Nice to HaveExperience with at least one CRM or marketing platform, such as HubSpot (strongly preferred).Familiarity with Shopify, Google Merchant Center, or other e‑commerce tools.Experience creating content for social media, blogs, or newsletters.What You’ll GainHands-on experience running live campaigns in a real e‑commerce environment.Practical skills in email marketing, CRM, segmentation, and reporting.Exposure to applied AI in marketing, sales, operations, and workflow automation.Mentorship from a team that cares about both systems and great wine.The potential opportunity to extend into a full-time role for high-performing interns.
