The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $79,827 - $105,767.86. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.Join Our Team as a Supervisor - Assembly!Are you passionate about Leadership? S&C Electric Company seeks a dynamic individual to coordinate our leadership function. As a Supervisor-Assembly, you'll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team.The Supervisor - Assembly is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations for the department, leading a team of skilled team members to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC). The Supervisor - Assembly oversees teams performing mechanical and electrical assembly, ensuring production goals are met while maintaining high-quality standards. This role involves supporting team members with complex schematics, blueprints, and Oracle ERP for inventory and supply management.Key ResponsibilitiesDepartment Leadership: Provide day-to-day leadership support for the department, including supporting all administrative tasks completion, issue resolution, and the seamless coordination of resources. Supervise and guide the team to ensure all job orders and daily metrics are met.Assembly Process Leadership: Oversee and guide team members on Assembly processes for the assigned area, coordinating with department leaders and cascading best practices down to team members through team leaders. Train team members in intricate assembly processes and troubleshooting issues to ensure production flows smoothly. Support the planning and coordinating of department assembly schedules, production rates, and capacity plans. Review and ensure team understanding of goals and oversee the upkeep of KPI boards.Quality Management: Ensure proper inspection of assembled components, subassemblies, and finished products, addressing defects and ensuring adherence to specifications. Enforce quality control measures to ensure products meet or exceed company standards. Support initiatives to continuously improve product quality and consistency. Set and maintain high levels of product quality. Support communication of corrective action plans, resolutions, and quality results.Supply Management: Utilize Oracle ERP and internal applications to manage inventory and order necessary supplies, ensuring the uninterrupted availability of parts.Health & Safety Compliance: Promote safety awareness and housekeeping, investigate and report on safety incidents, maintain and promote a safety-conscious manufacturing environment, enforce health and safety policies and procedures to create a safe working environment for all employees, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to production operations.Reporting: Create production and status reports. Communicate regularly with upper management regarding problems impacting production. Reports issues regarding production, quality, maintenance, or personnel to function leadership.Leadership & People Management: Uphold and promote a professional work environment, addressing minor conflicts and fostering teamwork in line with S&C's values. Monitor team tasks and provide regular feedback, both constructive and encouraging. Recognize and acknowledge team achievements and guide team members toward growth opportunities through mentoring and coaching.Budget Support: Support the Manager in overseeing department's budget, providing recommendations and helping to review expenditures.Compliance: Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rulesMaintain regular and punctual attendanceAttend in-person or virtual meetings as requested or requiredCommunicate effectively and respectfully with team membersOther responsibilities as assignedWhat you'll Need to Succeed:High school diploma/GED equivalent required3+ years of experience in a mechanical or electrical assembly role, preferably in a manufacturing environment, including team leadership experience.Knowledge and understanding of general production processes, along with common mechanical and electrical assembly techniques of products like S&C's.Good leadership skills within a manufacturing environment, with an ability to lead, guide, motivate, and delegate to deliver results.Solid critical thinking, organizational, planning, and project management skills, creative problem-solving when obstacles arise.Good interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships built on mutual trust and respect, navigate and resolve conflict, moderate behaviors, and foster collaborative working relationships amongst a diverse audience.Great communication skills, (written, verbal, listening, and presentation) able to liaise with internal stakeholders from support staff to function leadership.Adequate financial math skills with the ability to support budgetary decisions.Good analytical skills with the ability to use and analyze data to drive informed decisions and problem-solve issues.Proven success partnering across teams, creating effective partnerships at all levels, and collaborating at an operational level.Adapts to change and different ways of doing things quickly and positively and finds ways to accomplish things, even when faced with challenges.Good analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to leverage data to distill trends and insights that drive continuous improvementDecision-making capabilities with an ability to make balanced and informed decisions that help S&C achieve business goalsKnowledge of safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environmentPreferred:Proficient computer skills, including experience using Oracle ERP and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)Associate's degree in technical discipline, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.Physical demands:Standing: All tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.Lifting: Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight up to 40lbsWalking: Occasional walking moderate distances (less than 1/8 mile).Carrying: Frequent carrying of items ranging in weight up to 40lbsPushing: Occasional pushing of motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000 lbs.Pulling: Occasional pulling of motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000 lbs.Bending: Frequent bending and crouching to safely lift parts of various sizes and shapes.Reaching: Continuous full range of motion from above the shoulders to below the knees.Handling: Continuous handling of parts ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 50 lbs.Other: Respirator certification required.S&C Electric is committed to equal-opportunity employment.
