FOH Shift Manager / Restaurant Supervisor (Full-Time) Barrett’s Quality Eats – Coralville, IA
Barrett’s Quality Eats is a fast-growing restaurant in Coralville, IA, and we’re looking for a Front of House Shift Manager to help lead daily service, support our team, and grow alongside the business.
This role is ideal for someone who loves being on the floor, takes pride in high service standards, and is excited about developing leadership skills in a supportive, hands-on environment.
Position Overview
The FOH Shift Manager is responsible for the day-to-day front of house operations during assigned shifts. This is a full-time, hourly restaurant management position that combines active floor leadership with hands-on service.
Shift Managers at Barrett’s spend approximately 25% of their schedule as Manager on Duty, with the remainder of their shifts being in tipped roles such as serving, bartending, or working as a cashier in our bakery. This structure allows managers to stay connected to the guest experience while building real leadership skills.
This position reports directly to the Assistant General Manager and Director of Hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the front of house team during service with a calm, professional, and guest-focused presence
Be active and visible on the floor for the majority of each shift
Ensure service standards, SOPs, and health code guidelines are consistently met
Resolve guest concerns in real time and follow through on solutions
Identify potential issues before they impact service and work proactively to fix them
Support a culture of clear communication, accountability, and mutual respect
Coach and develop team members through immediate, thoughtful feedback
Train new servers, bartenders, hosts, and other FOH staff as needed
Communicate effectively with the management team regarding staff performance, operations, and opportunities for improvement
Take ownership of the success of each shift and the restaurant as a whole
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience in restaurants, hospitality, and/or FOH leadership
A genuine interest in leadership, coaching, and team development
Strong communication skills and the ability to give clear feedback to both staff and upper management
Comfort making decisions and taking responsibility during service
A steady presence in fast-paced environments
A desire to grow professionally within the restaurant

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
