Software Developer II - Android Apps
Overview:
As a Software Developer II at Esri, you will build modern Android apps that enable real-time field data collection, mapping, and critical field operations. You'll collaborate with design and engineering teams to deliver high-performance mobile experiences on Android, including offline syncing and GPS integration. Your work will support global missions by shaping field workflows and scalable tooling. Responsibilities:
- Build Android apps from architecture to design (ICS and up)
- Collaborate with developers and designers throughout the process
- Translate user requirements into practical mobile solutions
- Develop software for field mapping, data collection, sensor networks, and navigation
- Address complex problems with design, development, and UXPromote Android development and capabilities across EsriEngage in design and code reviews to share best practices
Key requirements:
- 2+ years of commercial software development experience
- Kotlin programming
- Developing on the Android platform
- Object oriented design skills
- Data structures and algorithms
- Mobile performance optimization and caching
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to thrive in a changing environment
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field
