Assistant Professor of Chemistry (Open Subspecialty) The Department of Chemistry at Hendrix College invites applications for a fixed-term Assistant Professor of Chemistry position, beginning in August 2026. This is a one-year appointment with the potential for renewal.The position carries a full-time teaching load of six course equivalents per year, where one course equivalent comprises a lecture section or two lab sections. The teaching load will primarily be focused on the introductory-level General Chemistry sequence and associated laboratories, though there may be opportunities to teach upper-level courses in the candidate's area of expertise, as department needs require. While the subspecialty for this position is open, preference will be given to candidates with expertise in Organic Chemistry or Biochemistry. The College seeks to extend its tradition of excellence in teaching and scholarship by attracting faculty who combine mastery of their disciplines with broad intellectual interests and commitment to the aims of a liberal arts college.
