Senior Product Counsel – Fully Remote (USA) (957-SLS)
Our client, a mission driven, fast‐growing private cloud company and leader in real‐time analytics, data warehousing, and data observability, is seeking a Senior Product Counsel.Responsibilities Reporting to the Deputy General Counsel, Product and IP, the attorney will join as an early member of the company's elite, business‐focused legal team. The primary role is to support product and engineering teams as a trusted legal partner throughout the full product lifecycle— from early‐stage feature development through launch and beyond. The counsel will help build privacy‐by‐design practices into product development, shape how the team scales responsibly, and focus on AI/ML, data privacy, intellectual property, and open‐source issues. The position will act as a solutions‐oriented advisor and business enabler, maintaining high standards for legal practice and business ethics.Additionally, the counsel will advise on drafting and reviewing technology licensing and integration partnership agreements with strategic product and ecosystem partners, provide guidance on trademark and brand protection matters, support integration work arising from acquisitions, and partner with Security and Privacy teams on incident response.Qualifications Strong candidates have a law degree, admission to practice in at least one U.S. state, and permission to practice in their state of residence. They possess 4 to 8 years of experience practicing in a combination of Big Law and in‐house at a tech company, with strong product counseling experience and a solid command of AI/ML issues, privacy (GDPR, CCPA), open‐source licensing, and IP. Excellent judgment, business orientation, strong communication and collaboration skills, comfort working with technical and non‐technical stakeholders, innate curiosity, and meticulous organization are required, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‐paced environment. Experience at a SaaS company, especially in databases, data infrastructure, or data platforms, is a plus.Compensation Targeted at an annual base salary of $250,000 to $275,000, plus equity and generous benefits.
