This role combines hands-on machine operation, precision quality control, and routine maintenance in a clean, organized manufacturing environment.ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret blueprints, engineering plans, work orders, and technical drawings to determine precise cutting requirements.Set up the CNC laser machine, including configuring parameters, adjusting lenses, and preparing the laser cutting equipment for production.Load and securely position raw materials, such as sheet and stainless metal, onto the machine and verify correct material type and thickness.Operate the CNC laser to cut or engrave materials according to programmed specifications and production schedules.Unload and handle finished parts carefully, ensuring they are properly labeled, staged, or transferred for the next operation.Measure and inspect finished parts using appropriate tools to verify that dimensions, tolerances, and quality standards are met.Perform routine in-process and final quality checks on both parts and equipment, documenting any deviations or issues.Conduct regular cleaning, calibration, and preventive maintenance on the CNC laser machine to keep it in optimal working condition.Perform minor repairs and adjustments to resolve basic mechanical or operational issues and minimize downtime.Maintain accurate production and quality logs, including recording machine settings, output quantities, and inspection results.Essential SkillsProven experience setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC equipment.Ability to read and accurately interpret blueprints and technical drawings.Proficiency in understanding and using programming languages such as G-code.Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software to retrieve, load, and manage cutting programs and workflows.Strong background in CNC machine setup, including configuring parameters, adjusting lenses, and securing materials for optimal performance.Demonstrated skill in inspecting finished parts to ensure they meet specified dimensions, tolerances, and quality standards.Knowledge of tool management, including selecting, caring for, and replacing cutting tools used in laser cutting operations.Ability to work with sheet metal and other relevant metals used in fabrication processes.Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting machine and process issues.Ability to maintain production and quality documentation accurately and consistently.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience as a CNC machinist or in a similar CNC machine operation role.Background in metal fabrication and manufacturing engineering environments.Experience performing routine maintenance, cleaning, and calibration on CNC machines.Familiarity with maintenance production workflows and coordination with other manufacturing processes.Strong communication skills to document actions clearly and relay information between shifts.Organizational skills to manage multiple jobs, materials, and priorities effectively.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small but growing production team.Why Work Here?You will join a growing manufacturing operation within a remodeled, modern facility equipped with new machinery and technology.
