We also are looking for someone who is willing to take ownership and has the courage to do the right thing.Position Overview: The Fiber Construction Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic systems and tower components. This role involves working both on the ground and at heights, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to high standards of quality. Employees participate in a 24/7, on-call rotation to support network outages, consisting of a 2-week rotation approximately every 12 weeks. During on-call periods, employees maintain their standard 4 10's schedule and are required to be available outside of normal business hours, as necessary.Salary: $22/hour - $42/hourKey Responsibilities:Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specification.Provide clear directions, perform quality control, and ensure proper tool distribution.Act as a mentor and provide training to less experienced technicians.Work safely and efficiently, following all safety regulations and guidelines.Conduct job safety analysis and ensure compliance with OSHA and NESC standards.Fiber Installation and Maintenance:Perform directional drilling, trenching, and plowing to install conduit and droplines for fiber optics.Assist in placing aerial fiber on poles.Maintain a strong work ethic and communicate daily operations to the Site Foreman.Plan bore paths, set up traffic control, and read and update maps.Tower Installation and Maintenance:Maintain, install, and decommission tower components such as CAT5 cables, antennas, radios, fiber optic cables, DC power cables, and broadband equipment.Climb and work on communications towers to install, replace, and repair antenna systems equipment.Assist the Foreman with telecommunications site and tower construction.Skills and Qualifications:Valid CDLProficient in directional drilling, trenching, plowing, and operating heavy equipment.Strong understanding of fiber optic and tower component installation and maintenance.Ability to work independently and complete tasks without supervision.Ability to climb and work at heights up to 300 feet.Knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking, and experience with GIS mapping software.Physical Requirements:The ability to lift 75 lbs. and transfer 130 lbs. with the help of a person, a distance of 12 feetMust be able to work outdoors in all weather conditionsBenefits:100% Employee Medical, vision, and dental insurance50% Dependent Medical, vision, and dental insurancePaid Time Off, increasing with longevityUp to 8 paid Holidays annually5 days of Sick Time annually401k with 3% company contributionJob Type: Full-TimeTo apply: Send resume and/or cover letter to adam.loghides@mammothcorporation.com
