Sr. Cost Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Analyst to join a growing manufacturing organization in Houston, Texas. This role will play a key part in leading the implementation and optimization of a new costing system while partnering closely with plant operations and finance leadership to improve cost visibility, reporting accuracy, and operational performance.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing cost accounting, advanced analytical capabilities, and experience managing projects from initiation through implementation.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the implementation and ongoing support of a manufacturing costing system within the ERP environmentPartner with plant leadership to provide financial analysis and operational decision supportAnalyze manufacturing costs, variances, labor, overhead, and inventory trends to improve profitability and reporting accuracySupport budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close activitiesMonitor and analyze work-in-process (WIP), production expenses, and operational performance metricsDevelop and maintain costing standards and support annual and ad-hoc cost roll exercisesPrepare financial reports, variance analysis, and ad-hoc reporting for leadershipCollaborate cross-functionally with operations, accounting, and finance teams to improve processes and drive efficienciesAssist with SOX compliance activities, reconciliations, and internal controlsInfluence stakeholders and support adoption of new costing processes and systemsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldMinimum 5 years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environmentStrong understanding of manufacturing process costing, inventory, WIP, and variance analysisAdvanced Excel skills requiredExperience with ERP systems such as JDE, Hyperion, or SmartView is highly preferredProven ability to lead projects from start to finishExcellent communication, organizational, and analytical skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple prioritiesAdditional InformationHybrid work schedule availableLimited domestic travel to manufacturing facilities may be requiredOpportunity for future leadership growth as the organization expands
