We partner with local farms, pastures, and oceans to highlight the natural bounty of the Pacific Northwest and create memorable culinary experiences for our clients.From intimate gatherings to large-scale events, our team delivers thoughtful hospitality, seamless logistics, and exceptional food and service.We are currently hiring experienced Banquet Captains to help lead our service team and ensure flawless event execution.Position OverviewThe Banquet Captain is the on-site leader responsible for managing service staff, coordinating with the culinary and logistics teams, and ensuring that events run smoothly from setup through breakdown.Banquet Captains act as the primary service leader during events, ensuring that service standards, timelines, and guest experience expectations are met at the highest level.This role requires strong leadership, communication, organization, and the ability to stay calm and effective in fast-paced event environments.Key ResponsibilitiesEvent LeadershipLead and manage service staff during catered events.Conduct pre-event staff briefings and communicate event details.Assign service positions and ensure all staff understand their responsibilities.Maintain professional service standards throughout the event.Event ExecutionOversee event setup, including tables, buffets, bars, and service stations.Ensure event spaces meet presentation and cleanliness standards.Monitor guest needs and respond proactively.Team ManagementSupervise servers, bartenders, and support staff.Provide guidance and support to service team members during events.Ensure staff maintain professional appearance and conduct.Client & Guest InteractionServe as the primary service contact for clients or venue coordinators during events.Handle guest needs, questions, or service adjustments professionally.Ensure guests receive attentive and thoughtful service.Qualifications2+ years of catering, banquet, or hospitality service experiencePrevious leadership or supervisory experience preferredStrong communication and organization skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks in fast-paced environmentsStrong attention to detail and commitment to service excellenceProfessional appearance and demeanorAbility to lift up to 40–50 lbs and stand for extended periodsValid driver's license preferredWhat We OfferCompetitive hourly pay based on experience with tipsOpportunities for advancement within the companyDynamic and supportive team environmentExposure to a wide variety of unique events and venuesSchedulePart-time / event-based schedulingEvenings and weekends requiredEvents range from small gatherings to large-scale productionsWhy Work With UsAt Sheild Catering, we believe great events are built by great teams.
