If you have five years' experience with export/import compliance with ITAR, EAR, and DFAR/FAR along with a relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, we invite you to click the apply button to learn more and share your qualifications with us.Minimum salary starting at $150K, hybrid schedule 3 days/week onsite.EOE, including Veterans/DisabilityEssential FunctionsRegulatory CompliancePrepare, submit and administer Department of State & Commerce licenses and agreements, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms & Explosives Import Permits. Provide document submittal status to colleagues within the company.Function as a liaison between Shipping/Purchasing, Foreign Party and/or U.S. Government to ensure paperwork meets all regulatory requirements.Investigate and resolve matters pertaining to export/import shipments that are held/seized by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.Ensure compliance with ITAR, EAR, and DFAR/FAR record keeping requirements.Support company internal compliance programs including training and audits.Review and approve foreign visitor and international travel authorizations. Provide guidance on what data is allowed to be presented to the foreign visitor and what restrictions may apply.Responsibility as the Empowered Official for all license and registration requirements with the US Department of State and authorization to sign and process license applications on behalf of the company based on understanding the provisions of the ITAR. Also responsible for registration and license/permit requirements of other U.S. government regulatory agencies.Interface with foreign companies and U.S. government license review agencies to complete and process export transactions, track the status of required licenses and agreements.Ensure compliance with international regulation (e.g. German War Weapon Control Act) following appropriate guidance from the responsible Rheinmetall Group export control officers abroad.Plan, negotiate, and coordinate international and national transportation to optimize terms and meet company needs.Facilitate implementation of new company policies.Internal/CorporateStay abreast of regulatory updates and changes as they affect compliance requirements in all areas noted above.Provide training & regular communication to employees to ensure compliance with export control, contract administration and security requirements, and additional training as needed based on updated laws and requirements.Ensure responsiveness to any audit or investigation findings and recommendations and report those to the Rheinmetall Weapons & Ammunition Division Compliance organization.Serve as point of contact for third-party management and risk-based due diligence & monitoring aligned with the Rheinmetall Weapons & Ammunition Division Compliance organization.Develop, write, implement and update formalized policies and procedures to ensure consistent processes and program compliance.CustomerSupport preliminary review / Bid & Proposal process.Support contract review process, primarily in FAR/DFAR responsibilities.Create matrix, meet with Team and review responsibilities.Monitor contract-specific reporting requirements.Manage & coordinate licensing/import/export.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITYNoneMinimum QualificationsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities (as demonstrated through experience, training and/or testing)Expert knowledge of U.S. export/import requirements (ITAR, EAR, ATF).Expert knowledge of FAR/DFAR regulations and application to federal contracts.Ability to review, comprehend, and interpret complex legal documents such as U.S. Government contracts, export licenses, and Technical Assistance Agreements (TAAs).Ability to maintain confidentiality of information obtained throughout the course of conducting compliance duties.Proven analytical and problem solving ability with a positive and solution-oriented approach.Ability to set up policies and procedures to support corporate compliance programs.Demonstrated ability to use appropriate judgment in interpreting regulations and applying standards of compliance to support and protect the business.Knowledge of international transport terminology, documents, standards such as INCOTERMS 2000 etc.Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.Ability to independently prioritize workload and shift with changing priorities.Excellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to confirm understanding of non-native English speakers (foreign associates).Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and proficiency with Excel as a tracking/database tool.EducationBachelor's Degree in a business-related discipline or equivalent experience.Experience5 years in Import and Export compliance.1 year in a government contracting role.Background PrerequisitesMust undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks and controlled substance testing.WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDSWith or without reasonable accommodations, requires the physical and mental capacity to effectively perform all essential functions.
