The successful candidate will be responsible for driving underwriting strategy, portfolio performance, and broker relationships across the U.S. Excess & Surplus (E&S) and admitted markets. This executive role demands a strategic leader with a proven track record in wholesale distribution channels, capable of managing a team to ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines and profitability targets. Key responsibilities include the development and execution of underwriting strategies for large and mid-sized commercial property accounts, overseeing the evaluation and approval of complex risks, and maintaining strong relationships with wholesale brokers to enhance market presence.Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years' commercial property underwriting experience, with a significant focus on wholesale distribution and E&S lines, and at least 5 years in a senior leadership or executive underwriting position. The role requires deep technical knowledge of complex property risks, catastrophe modeling, and layered/excess placements, as well as a proven ability to lead underwriting teams and deliver profitable growth. A strong broker network, excellent negotiation, and relationship management skills are essential. The ideal candidate will also have a Bachelor’s degree in business, risk management, or a related field, with CPCU or ARM certification being preferred.
