Position Type:Athletics/CoachDate Posted:3/2/2026Location:Glenbard WestDate Available:26-27PositionAssistant Coach - Girls Soccer 2 FTEsBuildingGlenbard WestSchedule B GroupGroup 4Job ID#10567School Year2026-2027Closing Date3/16/26 - or until filledCompensation and BenefitsAFSCME positions, please see the AFSCME ContractAll other individuals see the Extracurricular Schedule.TRS/IMRF benefits may apply.Position SummaryAssist the Head Coach to provide a competitive athletic environment that empowers and inspires student athletesHelp to foster team building and an environment of reliability, adaptability and good sportsmanship.Aide in the promotion of academic growth and achievement for athletes.QualificationsIHSA Coaching Certification (including applicable performance-enhancing substances, concussion, hate speech and harassment, and CPR/AED training)Reports ToAssistant Principal for Athletics, Assistant Athletic Director, or Head Coach of the building assigned.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesCommunicate with Head Coach as to role, duties and expectations.Help supervise the issuance and collection of equipment.Supervise practice, contest and locker room facilities and the transportation of athletes to and from practice and contests.Complete necessary paperwork on time.Cooperate with requests for information from the athletic office in a timely manner.Promote and publicize team and individual achievement to the media and school.Demonstrate proper care of facilities and equipment.Ensure full compliance with school, district, conference and IHSA rules and regulations.Communicate effectively with athletes. Communicate team rules, responsibilities and consequences for violations.Demonstrate enthusiasm for working with student athletes. Display concern for all team members. Show interest in the academic achievement of athletes.Develop team morale and rapport.Discipline in a firm, fair and consistent manner.Encourage athletes to participate in other school sports and activities.Conduct oneself in a professional manner on and off the field.Be punctual.Be cooperative in sharing facilities.Demonstrate commitment to the program.Communicate effectively with parents.Communicate effectively with the media.Support and promote school spirit.Establish and maintain good rapport with coaching staff, faculty and administration. Work cooperatively and communicate effectively with the Head Coach and other assistants.Other duties as assigned.Knowledge and SkillsAbility to read, analyze and interpret documents such as correspondence, surveys and electronic media.Ability to write professional communications.Ability to present information effectively and to respond to questions from individuals and groupsAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and community membersAbility to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in written formAbility to complete mathematical operations and apply concepts of basic mathematicsAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existsAbility to maintain current job skills as directed, especially in technology-related activitiesAbility to perform essential duties with an awareness of school district requirements and School Board policiesPhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
